Supporting those who support families...
History of the Family Engagement Collaborative
The Family Engagement Collaborative began forming in 2013 as part of the Ready Families, Ready Children Project funded by the Better Way Foundation. A joint effort between the University of Dayton's Center for Catholic Education, Center for Early Learning Initiatives, the Catholic Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and ReadySetSoar resulted in a funded three-year project designed to increase family engagement in the kindergarten readiness process of children in the region. The Collaborative Council meets monthly to identify and share strategies, approaches and resources and also to address needs related to family engagement in our community and beyond.
Goals of the Ready Families, Ready Children Project
To increase community and school knowledge of family engagement to optimize school readiness and success.
To increase the availability and use of strategies, approaches, and resources, in the community that support family engagement for school readiness and school success.
To identify and gain knowledge of the impact of a focused multidisciplinary community-based family engagement project on school readiness.
To increase the ability of family members and parents to participate in school readiness activities.
